Flame and water resistant elksplit glove, Kevlar® sewn, Fully lined, complete with TEMPERBLOC palm, meets NFPA 1971 standards. The key is a hi-tech new fabric called Temperbloc. It is a 100% Kevlar® knit fabric coated in a heavyweight, yet flexible Silicone. Waterproof so it has no water absorption, thus less hand fatigue and faster drying time. 100% Kevlar® base fabric means exceptional slash and puncture resistance. Leather starts to char at 475°F, Silicone can handle 650°F with no damage. The Kevlar® base fabric can handle higher temperatures.
