Applications

Argus In-Cab Charger Battery

Argus In-Cab Charger Battery

  • Nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries.

  • A fully charged new battery gives up to 4 hours of camera use at +22ºC.

The rechargeable battery system has been specifically designed to fast-charge the Argus4 Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (P7030R)

The charger is to be used with the Argus4 Charging Shoe (P7030CS) and is mains powered. The charger is a fully automatic “smart charger”, monitoring voltage, time and temperature and ensures optimum charge for the battery.

Additionally:

  • The charger has a built-in start timer that eliminates early termination of charging when a battery is first connected to it. This prevents batteries that have not been used for some time, or are completely discharged from showing a fully charged status incorrectly.

  • If the battery temperature is too low, the charger will start with a trickle charge until the correct operating temperature has been reached.

  • If the battery temperature is too high, the charger will reduce the charge rate until the normal operating temperature has been reached.

Argus In-Cab Charger

Argus In-Cab Charger

The Battery Charging Truck Mount will charge the camera battery pack without the need to remove the battery from the camera. It is designed to allow a Truck Battery Charger (P7030TBC) to be mounted on top, providing the facility for charging a spare battery.

  • Charges new battery using a 12/24V supply

  • Designed to provide secure storage

  • Instant access to Argus thermal imaging cameras

  • Quick push button release

  • Maintains the battery at full charge at all times

  • Charging can continue whether the vehicle is parked, running or in normal operation.

Argus External Power and Video Adapter

Argus External Power and Video
Adapter

The Argus4 and Argus SC External Power and Video Adaptor (EPVA) allows an Argus4 camera to be powered from an outside source and for the video to be viewed over a wired network connection. It can be powered from a wide DC input source and is supplied with a vehicle accessory plug. The EPVA replaces the Argus4 integral battery pack on the top of the camera. The camera on/off button is no longer required as the camera will turn on automatically when power is applied to the EPVA. The camera will display a start-up screen until a usable thermal image is produced. The video output is enabled either by using the transmit button function on the camera or by using the customer software.

The P7030EPVA is constructed from durable materials with high resistance to heat, water and impact and is sealed to IP54. No end-user maintenance is required other than external cleaning with a soft cloth.

Features

  • 10 V – 32 V input voltage. Automatic camera switch-on.

  • Standard or industrial Ethernet connectivity.

  • Crossover wired for simple direct connection to computer.

  • Remote viewing potential over network. Vehicle accessory plug power input.

Argus Camera Maintenance Checklist

What maintenance is required?

Maintenance of the Argus camera and its accessories must be carried out after use and at least once a month (the monthly inspection). It is recommended that all maintenance should be carried out as per the checklist guidelines.  (Results should also be recorded on the after use checklist and the monthly maintenance checklist.)

NB.
Maintenance should only to be carried out by personnel trained in the use of the camera. If the camera, its accessories or batteries have been damaged in a way that may have a negative effect on function. The camera and its accessories should be packed in the case and sent to an approved Argus maintenance workshop for servicing.

What is involved in maintenance after use?

The operations that are to be carried out after using the Argus camera and its accessories are shown here. Follow the steps in the checklist.

1. Filling in the checklist

  • Enter the thermal camera’s serial number, the date and in the signature list; your name.
  • The serial number is given in the markings on the camera, underneath the battery.
  • If inspection is satisfactory, enter OK in the box. Where it is unsatisfactory, enter U in the box and enter your remarks in the field for special remarks.

2. Checking the thermal camera and its accessories

  • Check that the camera and its accessories are not damaged and that they do not show any signs of wear that may have a negative effect on function. The image shows which parts are to be visually inspected.
  • If the camera has been exposed to combustion gases, dry it with a dry rag and, if necessary, wash it in a mild soap solution. Before packing them in the case, the parts that have been washed must be allowed to dry thoroughly.

3. Checking the charge status of the batteries

  • It is recommended that before entering a fire, a camera should always have a fully charged battery. Therefore partly used batteries should be put on charge after use.
  • To maintain the accuracy of the battery charge indicator, it is recommended that batteries be occasionally fully discharged in a camera before charging.
  • After several years of use or many hundreds of charge/discharge cycles, a rechargeable battery may not hold as much charge as a new battery. Replacement batteries may be purchased from Atlas Fire & Safety Equipment.
